Barrett is a Bahamian photographer whose work centers the emotions, concepts and ideas inspired by various life experiences of being an islander. Also the theme of otherness comes into his work, as the child of Jamaican immigrants in a country that is surprisingly unkind to its Caribbean neighbours and cousins. His inspiration lies in the landscape, often compiling motifs of human nature, biology, and the intrinsic ironies of everyday life.
